Another good Saturday morning.
All done on the Friday night and at the hall for 8.30 am on the Saturday and unlock, I didn’t have to pick Rob up this time so didn’t need to leave quite so early. I have my last minute things to set up and its 9am again, 13 eager youngsters into everything as usual, some are already on the computer or putting things on the gallery table.
The bell is rung and the monthly news letters are passed round and as one they reply loudly “September 27th” when I ask when the next meeting is. My opening chat is done with when I remind them it’s a machine shop not a playground and they can’t wait to get busy, away they go all over the hall eager to get started. Kim used a club lathe today so we both turned, Don, Bill and Dave manned the other three lathes, Eric and Ken where away on a turning cruise. A couple of the older ones had projects to finish then it was over to hanging things for next months Christmas tree,
Jeff very kindly did the refreshments for us and Mike helped out with the painting and things, young Kieran had whittled an old broom stick at home that morning so with some paint, a blow lamp, pyrography pen and a nice piece of Ash drilled and stuck on the top produced a very interesting walking stick.
Thomas and co were sorting computer things, web work now since we’ve just had a junior web building meeting at my house. And there goes another brilliant junior club morning.
