Another good Saturday morning.
With the hall set up and full of junior and senior members I welcomed everybody, lots to say this morning and they all listened and hopefully took the info onboard. Rachael here again today which is hopefully going to be a regular happening. Id chatted to Thomas about a pantograph for enlarging our logo and he agreed to explain it to us all, his moment came and he explained that we need to make a penguingraph? Brilliant, so now it’s officially called a penguingraph.
So what did we all get up to…..well Sam made the penguingraph, it took some time as I was helping and kept getting called away, with it finally made we set to trying it on the floor with bits of A4 paper in the right places, Thomas was helping us at this stage, we tried every way but couldn’t get it right, so its on the internet for Sam and Thomas, they are both clever lads so I’m sure they’ll sort it, an interesting project for them both.
Kieran took lots of pictures for me, I saw pen’s, small bowls, goblets and a spinning top being tuned down the far end, and Angy had wire loops dipped in liquid to make petal type shapes in different colours, put together on mirror looks stunning, the juniors really liked this, and I’m pleased to say we are getting some well though out pictures of things now, that’s down to Alex, he’s a senior member but also a member of Havant Camera club.
Ron had the computer set up and was kept very busy as usual, and Ros kept an eye on the pyrography, stencils and pens. I said at the beginning of the meeting we need to make a club name board, I showed them the senior’s, Jordan and Kayleigh chose to do this with Rachael’s guidance, I just happened to pass by and noticed some real imagination and discussion as to how and what to do, so impressed was I that I took a good few minutes if movie, both Jordan and Kayleigh were working together well and discussing in some depth the design, the best bit was to hear Rachael say “how do you want to do it” that’s the way to do it, their ideas, their enthusiasm and they make it, just a little guidance now and then. I have to say that moment was priceless to me, a credit to all the senior helpers.
Emily made a thin rimmed bowl with Mike; we thought we’d try piercing, got the bowl now but won’t get to dremel till October. The large Nobo board was full of drawings, a couple of cartoon type drawings by Rachael, Amber and Zoe also did some, Kayleigh and Jordan’s design was on there, a club logo and of coarse the penguingraph. Young Lily was here for the first time, brought along by granddad, we hope to see her next time. We had the usual midway break, cold drinks and Banana cake, tea or coffee. John stood in for Colin as this meeting is too much for Colin till he’s back to full health again, and Sam did a brilliant job helping in the kitchen, that’s pretty much it, as usual lots going on from the minute we started till the very end.
Thomas arrived early so he could get away sharp at the end and almost everybody else stayed on to help clear way, all done very quickly, and there goes another getting better all the time junior meeting.
