November 2011 Page 1 - Decorating a copper water tank
Back to Reports of previous meetings Next page
The local scrap yard, who have been exceedingly kind to the Club, allowed Mick Giles to borrow a copper hot water cylinder, on the strict understanding that it was returned at the same weight as when it was loaned. Lucille the blacksmith's Dad showed members how to make things out of sheet copper, and without that strict proviso on unchanged weight, the tank would have gone back quite a lot lighter than when it came!! Members therefore decided to decorate the tank as an unusual Christmas card for the people working in the scrap yard.
